Private Respite and Home Care services
AND a Resource for Islanders.

Eureka Home Care was founded by Karen Murray, a fellow Islander and certified Respite Care Professional (Holland College, 2025). With close family and family friends in the provincial home care system, Karen has seen firsthand the growing need for high-quality private Respite and Home Care services on Prince Edward Island. She recognized a clear gap; many families are looking for dependable support, yet there are limited providers able to meet this demand.

Eureka Home Care began in 2025 with in-home private Respite Care including home management and community involvement (mainly for seniors living alone with or without family living close by). Her plan is to extend services to full private Home Care in 2026. The company also serves as a resource for Islanders seeking guidance and information about private Respite Care and Home Care options, helping families understand what services exist and how to access the support they need.

Karen brings a diverse background shaped by years living both on and off-Island. Her experience includes working with children and adults with cognitive impairments and disabilities, providing Respite Care and supporting seniors in both Canada and the United States. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Functional Medicine from an American College. Her professional work has taken her into private homes, large estates and on private yachts for years, where she developed expertise in high-end housekeeping, laundry, house management, gardening, cooking and of course, guest care - skills that translate directly into thoughtful, detail-oriented support for Island families.
